VAT (Tax)

All hires and quotes include Vat @ 20% - If hiring for business a Vat invoice will be available at the end of the hire but CONNOT be provided in advance.

Fully Comprehensive Insurance and exclusions

Fully comprehensive insurance is included in the quotations - if self insuring a copy of your insurance policy including proof that its been added to your MID (moror insurers database)

The hirer will be responsible for UP-TO their excess amount for any damage caused whilst on hire.

We require all drivers to show their full driver’s licence and 2x additional proofs of address (dated within last 3 months) There is an extra cost for additional drivers. Things not covered by the insurance is anything that comes down to hirer negligence i.e., interior, tyre damage, glass and keys. Overhead/roof damage is also not covered. Failure to abide by the terms and conditions of each hire may revoke the insurance cover and thus make the hirer fully liable.

Full UK Breakdown Cover

For your peace of mind, No1 Car & Van Hire provide a 24-hour emergency telephone service on all hires. This breakdown cover is exclusive to the UK unless overseas cover has been purchased. Driver induced faults are not covered by our breakdown insurance and therefore are chargeable by No1 Car & Van Hire. Our recovery number will be highlighted on your rental agreement which must be kept in the vehicle for the duration of the hire.

Driver induced faults are not covered by our breakdown company and therefore are chargeable. These include, but are not limited to: Misfuel, Wheel change, Tyre damage, Out of fuel, Lockout, Lost/broken keys,

Here at Number One we do not take a deposit.

Fuel Policy

Here at No1 Car & Van Hire we ask the vehicle you hire to be returned with the same amount of fuel as when its collected. Upon collection you will be asked to sign a pre-rental check which will highlight what fuel is in the vehicle in addition to the pre-rental check one of our rental agents will also take either a video or photo of the mileage and fuel before you leave our premises.

Congestion Charge.

The hirer is responsible for paying the daily London Congestion Charge. The charge should be paid on the day you enter the Charging zone and can be paid via the internet www.tfl.gov.uk or by calling 0333 200 1000. Please ensure you enter the correct registration number to avoid an £80 fine for incorrect details being entered. Please record and keep the receipt details.

For details of the area covered by the zone, please consult the Transport for London website and when driving look out for signs saying you are entering the Congestion Zone a large white ‘C’ painted on the road.

All our vehicles are Ulez Compliant.

Failure to pay the congestion charge will result in No1 Car & Van Hire having to make representation on your behalf, which will result in an admin fee to cover our out of pocket expenses. Minimum charge is £50.00 for dealing with each fine.

Insurance Liability

Here at No1 we DO NOT take a deposit

Your liability against accident damage (either fault or non fault accidents) is £750

Your liability against theft/writeoff is £1500 - please ensure all windows are shut, all doors secured and keys are removed from the vehicles whilst loading or re-fueling.

If you wish you can pay an insurance waiver to reduce your excess (you can request this option when making your enquiry)

non-UK Mainland Hire

All hires are UK only unless pre authorised beforehand - additional charges apply to overseas hires along with increased excesses please contact our office to obtain a quotation.

Additional Drivers

There is a cost for any additional drivers with the costing dependant on the lenght of hire (see extras tab). All drivers must produce their licence in the office to be added to our insurance policy.

In addition to the licence all drivers MUST either have a DVLA share code or know their National Insurance Number (see DVLA tab)
